What is TIMO?

Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) is an annually conducted Mathematics Olympiad examination. The exam is conducted for grades KG-12. The exam is conducted in online mode only. It is organized by Olympiad Champion Education Center (OCEC) and the Thailand Mathematics Society.

TIMO exam intends to stimulate and foster students’ interest in learning mathematics, strengthen creative thinking ability, widen their international perspective, provide exposure to the competition from an early age.

As we know all the Mathematical Olympiad competitions only focus on 0.1% of the elite students, TIMO provides a great opportunity for every student with strong interests in Mathematics to participate in the Mathematical Olympiad competition.

What makes TIMO unique from other competitions is that after the exam is held, TIMO releases the general statistics of every students’ performance which helps to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates.

TIMO Heats is first held at the country level to identify Mathematical young talents who can participate in TIMO Finals in Thailand subject to qualifying and registering. Students who qualifies the TIMO Finals and win the gold award are then eligible for WIMO (World International Mathematical Olympiad) along with a free Olympiad training workshop.

Generally, students from more than 14 regions/countries participate in the exam.

How to participate in TIMO?

The examination is held in two rounds:

TIMO Heat Round
• Students are required to register according to current school grade level in the month of May.
• RM 90 per candidate is the fee.
• To make payment for TIMO, it can be done via https://www.billplz.com/timoheat
• You will receive an Instant Receipt via Email with the FPX Reference No. (eg. FPX – 1234F1CDB23E).
• You may pay for more than 1 child/ student at once. Just put in the same FPX Reference No. during registration.
• Fill up the Form: TBC

TIMO Final Round
• TIMO will send the Invitation & Info Pack to teacher-in-charge at school.

Exam Pattern

• Online TIMO Heat Round has a total of 25 questions having 4 marks each. The total score for this round is 100 marks. The time allowed will be 90 minutes.
• The TIMO Mock exam has a total of 30 questions having 5 marks each. The total score for this round is 150 marks. The time allowed is 90 minutes.
• The TIMO Final Round has a total of 30 questions having 5 marks each. The total score for this round is 150 marks. Time allowed is 90 minutes.

Exam Fee

• INR 1500 per participant (student). Discounts are available on multiple competitions or multiple entries.
• Fees include: Access to some past papers and answer keys as downloadable soft copies.
• Online exam login credentials, schedule and exam instructions will be provided by email after registrations close one week before the exam.

Exam Dates

TIMO Heat Round 2022/23 Exam Date is 27 September 2022 (Tuesday). The exam is to be conducted between 10 am-5 pm in online mode.

Registration closing date is 25 August 2022.

TIMO Final Round 2021/22 Exam Date is 2 April 2022 (Saturday). The exam is to be conducted between 9 am-12 pm in online mode. Registration closing date is 26 January 2022.

How to prepare for TIMO?

• Gold Award: To winners who scored 80 percentile or above
• Silver Award: To winners who scored 60 percentile or above
• Bronze Award: To winners who scored 40 percentile or above
• Merit Award: To winners who scored 20 percentile or above

The above award slabs will be on a percentile basis. The awards are also country wise and later the Global ranking is also shared.

The highest 3 scorers in each grade by global ranking, Awards – The Champion Trophy | 1st Runner-up Trophy | 2nd Runner-up Trophy Perfect Scorer Trophies for those who score 100%

TIMO Final Round
• Gold Award: To winners who scored 80 percentile or above
• Silver Award: To winners who scored 60 percentile or above
• Bronze Award: To winners who scored 40 percentile or above
• Merit Award: All remaining students
• Awarding certificates and medals will be given to students with gold, silver and bronze honors.
• The remaining students will get Merit certificates. All the Awards will be on Global level criteria.
• Perfect Scorer Trophies for those who score 100%.
• World Star Awards – The highest Scorer from Each country

1. Asia’s 2nd Biggest Olympiads- CREST Olympiads

CREST Olympiads - Asia’s 2nd Biggest Online Olympiads is conducted for students of classes Prep/KG to 10. The exam is conducted in two levels.
